The featured property was built in 1970 and is located in the medieval fishing village of Torekov which is located on the southwest coast of Sweden, only an hour from Malmö.
It is considered to be the “Cotswolds” or the “Hamptons” of Sweden, where many unwritten codes apply, such as walking through the village in the morning in a worn-out bathrobe as proof of generational residency. Romantic cobblestone alleys, colourful houses, sandy beaches and wild hollyhocks create an historic and picturesque atmosphere which has made the village more popular with each passing decade. The result is small suburbs expansions representing each passing decade.
The House of Bennet was commissioned to reconstruct and make the open plan kitchen – living – dining area larger through an extension. The vision was to merge the 70’s house with the surroundings & modernizing it, whilst sensitive to its historical setting.
